GoPro has grown to be an enabler of communication all around the world. A wide range of groups, from firefighters to the U.S. Army, are able to use GoPro for a multitude of tasks due to its versatility. Many companies have also used this innovative technology as a key tool in viral marketing campaigns.

Rip Curl

Rip Curl used the world’s first mobile, waterproof 48 camera array in a marketing advertisement for its Mirage Boardshort. This was a revolutionary feat of technology as the camera array was able to shoot actual video and sync them all together rather than having still pictures arranged in sequence.

Red Bull Stratos Jump

The 2014 Super Bowl advertisement came from a partnership between Red Bull and GoPro. Seven GoPro cameras were used in the commercial to record Felix Baumgartner’s attempt at a record setting parachute jump from a helium balloon in the stratosphere 24 miles above eastern New Mexico. Rip Curl and Red Bull are just a few examples of the companies involved in developing innovative ideas with GoPro and there are only endless possibilities left for this technology to evolve.
